Canada Scaffold Supply Co. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator/Installer to join our structural steel department team in Richmond, BC.

Canada Scaffold – Welder Installer Career

Reporting to the department manager, a Ticketed Welder will be assisting with welding and installation of standard and custom structural steel projects in the field.  This exciting and rewarding permanent Full Time opportunity is available for Field Welders – Structural Steel (Journeyman and Apprentice).

The ideal candidate will have CWB SMAW/FCAW all position ticket combined with 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry working with Structural Steel.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, be mechanically inclined, and demonstrate a high degree of initiative. This physically fit self-starter will be able to follow directions, work well with others and have the motivation necessary to contribute positively to a team environment. This individual, reliable and punctual at all times, will have excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work with minimal supervision. The individual will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions and must be comfortable working at heights with power tools.

The key work duties will consist of the following:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications
  • Work from mobile elevated work platforms
  • Job task planning and organizing
  • Promote and demonstrate a safe work environment.
  • Prepare materials prior to assembly
  • Rig, hoist, align and secure steel by bolting or welding methods
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment for fuse metal segments using these processes: flux cred arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and stick welding
  • Work with crane operators and understand crane signals

 

Skills required:

  • 2-3 years of experience with structural ironworking (conventional)
  • Welding experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of crane signs and signals
  • Zoom and Forklift tickets
  • Innovative problem solving, fast decision making and critical thinking
  • Have the strength and ability to lift items in excess of 50lb.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and safe drivers abstract
  • Respect for safety rules and consideration of changing conditions of physical space is essential

 

Other requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and safe drivers abstract
  • Worker will need to supply their own hard hat and work boots
  • Canada Scaffold will supply necessary safety gear

Canada Scaffold Supply Co. Ltd. is seeking a motivated Scaffold Erector/Supervisor to join our scaffolding department team in Richmond, BC.

CSS Scaffolding Department

CSS Scaffold Department

Reporting to the department manager, the individual will be assisting with scaffold installs as well as being responsible for general labourer duties in a service-oriented fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, be mechanically inclined, and demonstrate a high degree of initiative. This physically fit self-starter will be able to follow directions, work well with others and have the motivation necessary to contribute positively to a team environment. This individual, reliable and punctual at all times, will have excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work with minimal supervision. The individual will be required to work outdoors and must be comfortable working at heights.

The daily work duties will consist of the following:

  • Shop work, cleaning and maintaining equipment along with preparing orders
  • Driving, delivering and picking up orders from job sites
  • Assisting with the installation/dismantling of scaffolding
  • Writing up contracts, labor reports, toolbox meetings, safe work procedures and fall protection plans
  • Promote and demonstrate a safe work environment
  • Work closely with engineers.

 

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and present drivers abstract
  • Demonstrate the ability to safely drive vehicles with both automatic and standard transmissions
  • Worker will need to supply their own hard hat and work boots
  • Canada Scaffold supplies all personal protective equipment
  • Company benefits after 3 months
